Beware of immigration scammers ⦁ 小心BNO騙案

Fraudsters are quick and innovative. Some are already taking advantage of Hong Kongers’ interest in the BNO visa process. 

Please refer to our post on the process, which we will update as new information comes. 

• The BNO visa process has not begun. There is no way to apply before 31 January 2021.
• You will not be contacted and invited to apply by the British government or the British Consulate General in Hong Kong.
• Do not trust unsolicited emails or phone calls offering immigration services.
• Verify the company’s identity
• We suggest you only use immigration advisors registered with professional immigration bodies. The UK body is the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). Our research could not identify an equivalent in Hong Kong.
• Do not trust unofficial contact details, such as mobile phone numbers or free email accounts like gmail.
• Beware of fake websites. Check the URLs carefully against the websites of the real authorities. 
• Do not give personal information (name, address, passport number, etc.) to anybody you do not know
• Do not give money to anybody but approved immigration professionals. Do not deal with anyone who wants payment before any contract, wants cash, wants to meet in an unusual place, or puts pressure on you.
